This course will guide you through the steps to bring Jazzit Fundamentals into your new and existing CaseWare files. We will cover importing trial balance data, bringing in Jazzit maps and key templates into your file. We also walk through the Home menu settings within the financial statements to ensure client defaults are set properly. This course is designed to get the new user up and running with Jazzit quickly.

Jazzit - What's New Webinar - January 2019

Welcome to the January 25, 2019, Jazzit Fundamentals update release notes.

Highlights from this release:

  • Signature line options have been moved from the bottom of the Balance Sheet to within the statement settings folder at the top of this statement for the 2 column Balance Sheet (BS) and the Balance Sheet with Opening Balances (BS3).

  • Added the option to round amortization expense to the nearest dollar in the Property, plant and equipment (CA/CB) Working Papers.

  • Added the option to sort groups alphabetically by group title in the Property, plant and Equipment (CA/CB), Continuity of Disposals (CE) and Intangible Assets (IA) Working Papers.

  • Added the option to skip risk headings in the Financial instruments – option 1 (K8) note.

Here are some highlights from the September 28th update:

  • Jazzit print package (JZPACK) is a new template allowing you to print your client financial statements with letters to a single file.  Documents can also be sorted in any order.

  • Statement headings now provide the option to present both the current and comparative year end dates in the text

  • Both the 2 column and 9 column Income Statements now support the ability to insert subtotals which add amounts below the last subheading.

  • Please check our September 28th "What's New" document found in the link provided below for a complete list of updates.

Post-Auditor Reporting now Available

 Here are some highlights from the August 10th update:

  • The Audit Engagement Report has been updated to include the post-auditor reporting (mandatory for year-ends on or after December 15, 2018).

  • The Engagement Letter (JZEL) and Management Representation Letter (JZRL) for changes included in the latest PEG release including post-auditor reporting in the engagement letter.

    With the exception of pre CSRE 2400 review engagements, all engagements should now be using the new engagement letter (JZEL) and new management representation letter (JZRL). The old letters (EL/RL) are being phased out.

  • The Audit Engagement Report now support the option to select between pre and post auditor reporting.

  • Additional working papers can be set to either Working paper or Financial statements formatting (adopting the financial statements headers/footers if selected)

  • The Financial Statements Checklist extensive revisions including: expanded number of columns, individual document sign-off, new comment and detail lines.

  • Please check our August 10th "What's New" document found in the link provided below for a complete list of updates.

Welcome to the April 27, 2018 Jazzit Fundamentals update release notes.

Some highlights from this release:

  • Each group in the amortization working papers (CA/CB/IA) can be reconciled to GL accounts for cost and accumulated amortization

  • Balance Sheets (BS/BS2/BS3) option to net current receivable/payable and long-term receivable/payable balances from shareholders and related parties when the related note is also included in the financial statement

  • If note dividers are enabled in the financial statements they can now be individually turned on or off

  • The policy headings for the Significant Accounting Policies (K3A) can be set to upper/lower case globally

  • Share Capital (K7) note now has a new table to disclose shareholder percentages of ownership

  • The Final checklist (FC) has been updated with a variety of new features and enhancements

  • The Tax note (KT) capital losses note can now disclose when losses were incurred and when they will expire

  • The Title Page and Table of Contents can be combined to print on a single page;

  • Added option to globally insert/delete transactions in selected securities in Marketable Securities working paper (simlilar to PPE working paper). Also added the detail back into right column of broker statement when forex is selected:

  • Adjust the interest rate for each payment interval on the Loan Calculator;
