9 Column Financial Statements - Partnership Only

• Added new format option for Partnership to show partners in columns rather than rows. Note that partners must be setup as entities in order to use this format option. The layout is similar to the existing NFP format B.

IS 2 Column Income Statement

• Added right mouse menu to CY and PY % in revenue and fees section so user can adjust the amount +/- .01 for any rounding differences so section will total 100.00.

IS2 9 Column Income Statement

• Added new option under page options for "Earnings or loss". This will switch between earnings and loss (rather than income and loss) depending on balances for current and prior year(s).

CL Client Enclosure Letter

• Added the Express button option to show/hide print/skip checkboxes on each paragraph within the letter. This allows you to turn on and off paragraphs for each section as desired. There is also a global switch in the template options area to show/hide all row checkboxes.

NL Notes Menu

• Added option to edit the header wording for note pages within the settings section located at top of the notes.

Q1-QK Additional Letters

• Increased the number of paragraph groups from 10 to 30. Added option to sort paragraph groups in the freeze frame. Added option to hide unselected paragraph groups in the document options area.

SC Schedules Menu

• Added the option of "For the..." in the date cells of all 20 schedule headers for consistency of options with the statements.

WV Waiver of Audit Resolution

• Added option to select province from the template options. The appropriate act will automatically be displayed based on which province is selected.

BS/BS2/BS3 Balance Sheets

• The federal tax is now no longer netted against provincial tax. It is now possible to have both income taxes payable and receivable on the balance sheet (for example if federal is payable and provincial is receivable).

IS/IS2 Income Statements

• Added a warning at top of statement of RE when PPA switch is off and PPA adjustments are present. 2x click on the warning to open the PPA section.

CF/CF2 Statements of Cash Flow

• Added print/skip switches to all rows that cannot already be skipped (via link dropdown cell) in the direct method calculations section.

G1 GST/HST reconciliation - quick method of accounting options

• Template has been redesigned to provide required information for the quick method of accounting GST/HST form.

EL Engagement Letter

• Correction made to the NTR report so it will maintain the indented position when updated from Resource Centre.

JZR1 Additional Letter From Client

We have added a customizable letter which is from your client addressed to your accounting firm. This is the opposite of the existing blank additional letters.

TX Income Taxes Working Paper

We have added a "Summary of loss carried forward" table to the working paper. We have also increased the decimal points from 2 to 3 in the GRIP section.

K9 Loans and Notes Receivable Note

We have added tables to show the aging of loans and loan impairments to the notes linked to the trial balance and Jazzit working paper.

K4 Property, Plant & Equipment Note

We have added a PPE note which allows you to detail additions and disposals to capital assets. By default, the note is linked to your Jazzit working paper.

JZBR1-JZBR5 Bank Reconciliation

We have increased the number of available bank reconciliation working papers from 1 to 5.

JZ5COL1 Five Column Generic Working Paper & JZ5P Five Period Generic Working Paper

We have increased the number of available groups from 10 to 40. We have also added the option to display a particular group in the freeze frame.

Loan Calculator & related debt notes

Added support to provide compounding interval, payment interval, and loan type (blended, interest only, and principal only) information to the related debt notes in the financial statements from the loan calculator.

Financial Statement Home Menu

Home menu at the top right now indicates if financial statements are properly linked to the Resource Centre and when the administrator last updated the Resource Centre.

9 Column Balance Sheet

Two signature lines can now be placed either one below the other, or side by side via a dropdown in the signature area.

Marketable Securities Working Papers

We have added the ability to specify the country code for securities marked as specified foreign property.

Comparative & Five Year Generic Working Papers

Increased the number of available groups from 10 to 40. Also added the option to display a particular group in the freeze frame.

Engagement Letter

Updated to reflect the 2014 CPEM wording revisions for review engagements.

The sample report is now indented and we have added the option to skip report heading and signature block (both set to skip by default for review and audit engagements per CPEM samples). We have also added the option to bold or unbold the section headings in the sample audit report.

Document Maps

Document maps have been added to Jazzit working papers and letters to assist with navigation. Quickly get to the section you want by using the document map panel.

Jazzit Working Papers and Letters

Top right corner (below the license information) now indicates if properly linked to the Resource Centre and includes diagnostics to help troubleshoot if Resource Centre is not found.

We have added a new setting which allows significant accounting policies to be displayed with letters. There is now also the option to have bold without underlining.

IS2 9 Column Income Statement

We have added a separate column selection for Net Assets Format B in the 9 column Income Statement. Note that the format will default to the main statement column selection panel if nothing is different.

KD Marketable Securities Note

Now if the note is set to "Cost", Fair Market Value is now shown in the line items.

KJ Related Parties Transactions Note

Individually select related parties in the Related Parties Transactions area.

EL Engagement Letter

We have added page break options in the express buttons of all input paragraphs.

Congratulations to Austin Nieuwdorp, the winner of the Jazzit CA Student Recognition Award!

Austin has been involved with KidSport Calgary for four years. KidSport Calgary is a chapter of a national organization which strives to provide funding for low income families to enroll their children in sport. The committee Austin is a member of has raised annual funding levels per child to $400. This has resulted in enrollment increasing by more than 15% since last year. Austin is being awarded for his dedication to these causes while his free time was extremely limited due to his studies.

9 Column Balance Sheet

A new format option has been added, which enables users to select between the regular balance sheet presentation and the PSAB (Public Sector Accounting Board) presentation. This is available for both classified and unclassified options.

Added support for listing 3 funds as rows when the following is true:

• Structure is set to Not-For-Profit.
• Format C is selected in the net assets statement.
• Only the Current Year and Prior Year columns are selected in the balance sheet.

Income Statement

Added an optional description for the subtotal after fees. For it to appear, the subtotal must be set to print, by the switch to the far right of the line.

Statement of Cash Flow

Added note references to all lines in the direct method calculation. Click on the note reference to jump to the corresponding note.

Loan Calculator

Added the ability to specify a loan amortization period which extends beyond the loan maturity date. A warning has been added if the amortization period is prior to the maturity date.

Engagement Letter

Added "Title of Owner(s)" and "Number of Owner(s)" to the letter options. Also added requested single/plural shareholder wording.

Description of Business Note

Added the ability to change the tense of the default description of business note. Also added the ability to date when the company was incorporated.

Updated selections of Corporate Acts for Not-for-profit and For-profit corporations. The default act is now selected automatically based on the province selected in the engagement properties.

In the note linked to the JI working paper: Increased the number of loans that can be linked from the working paper to the note from 69 to 100.

Marketable Securities

We have updated the marketable securities working paper foreign property summaries to include the gain (loss) and income for part 6 of T1135. Note that we will not be summarizing securities by country code (part 7) as this requires the maximum fair market value during the year (not maximum cost).

AgriStability Numbers

The farm masters have been updated to include AgriStability numbers in group 5 along with related automatic CaseWare documents. A BIG thanks to Brenda from Best Roest & Co LLP for sharing this with us city slickers. Administrators can download the farm maps file from our Snackbar to bring in the groups, updated map structure and automatic CaseWare documents into your farm engagements and master file.

MAJOR UPDATE: 9 Column Statements & Schedules:

9 Column Statements can be multi-year:

9 Column Statement entities can be combined:

Increased number of available columns from 4 to 9 (7 columns when CY/PY totals selected).

Column settings now located in the home menu rather than top of statement. Column settings are now saved upon update from the Resource Centre:

If CY total column settings are set to "As Selected", the foreign exchange, discrete, type and bucket can be set for individual columns:

Support for portrait or landscape orientation. Support for letter and legal paper size. Both set automatically depending on number of columns selected, but can also be adjusted manually:

Users can now click anywhere on the row for express menu options. Express buttons are still available to the right of the row:

2x drill-down is available on all linked amounts in columns 1-9. If totals only are selected, users can 2x click on totals for drill-down information:

Additional features to note:

Option to include a total column for current and prior year. If only CY/PY total is selected, amounts are linked to either notes or link information shown to the right.

Columns can be set to different periods when CY total is switched off (Eg. A 5 year statement). When CY total is enabled, they follow the settings of CY total by default (setup for entities).

PY total column pulls amounts from CY total column on roll-forward.

Selected rounding accounts are now saved on update from Resource Centre.

Users can select which column is to be bolded (or have none at all). Selected bold column is retained on update from Resource Centre.

Column headings remain display on screen as user scrolls down statement.

9 Column Income Statement:

When the structure is set to "Not for Profit" the statement changes in net assets can be added to the bottom of the revenues and expenditures statement by switching off the net assets statement in the table of contents:

9 columns can link directly to the same column within the 9 column IS schedules. The CY/PY total columns can also link to other schedule types which only present 2 years when IS is set to CY/PY totals only:

9 Column Balance Sheet:

Option to include either a budget or transition column. Budget column must be selected in the column settings for the toggle to appear at the top of the balance sheet:

9 Column Cash Flow Statement:

The comparative period is set at top of the statement. First period is set in column settings in the home menu. The CMP button in the home menu column settings jumps you down to the comparative period settings:

When set to indirect method, not CY/PY totals only, if the "Changes in none cash working capital" folder is close, a separate page will appear listing the changes:

This statement can only link to the Cash flow note if CY/PY total only is selected.

If only CY/PY total is selected, amounts are linked to either cash flow note/working papers or link information shown to the right.

9 Column IS Schedules:

Improved column selection control panel for each schedule. Settings now retained on update of Resource Centre (eg. Bold column selected). New buttons for quick column selection:

2x drill-down is available on all linked amounts in columns 1-9. If totals only are selected, the users can 2x click on totals for drill-down information:

Updated to support the new 9 column statements. New consistent layout allows for proper linkage to the statements. Able to use linkage on the right when Totals CY/PY are selected:

Financial Statements Home Menu:

Admin area includes button to switch between 2 year and 9 column financial statements:

Rounding section updated to support 9 column financial statements. When set to CY/PY totals only, CY total column includes a rounding account. When any column from 1-9 is selected, the rounding is done in that column and totalled in the CY total column.

"Entity referred to as" is set automatically based on the structure selected.

Share Capital Note

Adjusted spacing between columns within the Share Capital/Redemption schedule to accommodate amounts in the millions.

All Letters:

Added support for a global setting for draft stamp. The global switch is located in the Diagnostics Report:

Added option to adjust spacing between end of letterhead and beginning of letter from None to 2.5". Option appears in the document properties section.

MAJOR UPDATE- Loan & Lease Calculator

- Specify compounding periods and payment intervals (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual).
- Added support for interest only and fixed principle loans.
- Accommodates Canadian mortgage calculations.
- Payments can either be calculated, taken from the working paper, or overridden to the desired amount.

- Added support for the improved Loans & Lease Calculator.
- Improved Diagnostics- When the number of rows are greater in the working paper than the Resource Centre module, a warning appears when updated the working paper indicating which groups will be affected and how many rows will be lost unless added to the Resource Centre.
- New option to insert 5 and 10 loans/leases at a time instead of only one.

Capital Asset and Intangible Asset Working Papers

- Improved Diagnostics- When the number of rows are greater in the working paper than the Resource Centre module, a warning appears when updated the working paper indicating which groups will be affected and how many rows will be lost unless added to the Resource Centre.
- Added option to select a CCA class for the group and determine whether the selected rate will automatically set the group rate.
- Added option to change heading on cost recoveries column to salvage value or ITC.
- Increased the number of supported groups per working paper from 20 to 40.
- Revised "Show All Groups" popup menu in freeze frame to retain current selection on update of Resource Centre.

Prepaid Expenses and Deferred Income Working Papers

- Improved diagnostics- When the number of rows is greater in the working paper than the RC module, a warning appears when updating the working paper indicating which groups will be affected and how many rows will be lost unless added to the RC.

Materiality Guidelines Working Paper

- Revised to reflect information required for a Review Engagement.
- New section added for "Final Materiality Assessments"
- Modified section "Materiality for this engagement" by providing lines for previous period materiality and preliminary materiality along with commentary for each.
- No longer used for an Audit Engagement. Please use JI Checklists package CPEM or PPM for an audit.

Client Enclosure Letter

- Updated the threshold for GST quarterly installments from $1,500 to $3,000.

GST Simplified Method Working Paper

- Updated the quick method threshold from $200,000 to $400,000.

Marketable Securities Working Papers

- Added support for "Specified Foreign Property" per CRA form T1135 which requires the taxpayer to disclose the maximum cost amount during the year for each security.

Diagnostics Report Working Paper

- New section added at the top of the document to set default settings for the working paper references roll forward and draft stamp. This affects all letters and working papers in that engagement.

- New section added to the top of the document which shows documents missing role sign-offs.

Significant Accounting Policies Note

- Added "Basis of Presentation - introduction to policies" policy.
- Added "Net assets" Not for Profit policy.
- Added "Goods and Services Tax" Not for Profit policy.
- Updated the "Contributed Services" policy.
- Discontinued differential reporting policy and introduction to policies other than differential reporting.

Obligations Under Capital Lease Note

- Modified note linked to Jazzit working paper so when "thereafter" is not selected, interest shown only relates to the next 5 years.

Marketable Securities Note

- Added check box to toggle the optional line show cost at the bottom of the note.

- Added option to show details by brokerage firm.

- Added feature to insert subtotals into either the securities detail or broker summary version of the note linked to working paper.

Description of Business Note

- Updated wording to provide more options for different entity types including Not for Profit.

Long Term Debt Note

- Added a loan number to more easily identify the loan to the working paper.

Management's Responsibility Schedule

- Formatted the heading to be consistent with the engagement report. Added additional spacing above and lines around the heading options.

Client Enclosure Letter:

Option of specifying between Paper and Electronic copy for enclosures has been added to the top of the letter.

Additional options have been added to Management Bonus section of the letter. You are now able to choose between
"Next 180 days bonus" / "Annual Bonus" and "We file T4" / "Client Files T4".

Additions have been made to the text within Federal and Provincial Corporate Tax to accommodate online filing.

Schedules Menu:

Added right mouse menu option to update schedule or pull same schedule from another financial statement to the
delete button for all schedules.

Statements:

All statements will now only allow you to change manually inserted lines into subheading lines if there are no values
already entered into the line.
